Melissa Chambers is a London based Australian theatre-maker who has created shows for theatres in Melbourne, the UK/EU and New York City. She draws on a range of forms and subject matter including plays, contemporary fiction, biographical adaptation and sound installation.

Recent work includes Close (The Landor Space, London)We Don’t Live Here Anymore (Governor’s Island Trust, NY), The Secret History (East 15, London) The Wild Finish (The Living Theatre and Culture Project, NYC) and A Difference:The Ada Byron Project (Freight Project NYC). Her work has appeared at festivals in New York City and throughout Europe including The Porsgrunn International Arts Festival (Norway) The Amsterdam Fringe (Het Feinhout Teatre), the Edinburgh Festival and the Rock Surfers, Horse’s Mouth Festival, Sydney.

In 2018 she will perform with Melbourne based Optic Nerve Performance Group in Robert LePage / Marie Brassard's Polygraph (Theatreworks) She has also acted for theatre companies in NYC (International WOW) and Melbourne (The Melbourne Theatre Company and Red Stitch Theatre among others) and Europe (Awake Projects).

Melissa holds a Masters degree in Performance Practice and Research from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London, and a BA in Acting from the Victorian College of the Arts, Australia. She has also trained in physical theatre with Teatr Pieśń Kozła in Poland
